The light sculpture “Lesser” by Olaf Nicolai honors the painter Lesser Ury and recalls the historical gas lamps of Berlin by depicting them in enlarged form and illuminating the UPPER WEST square in the evening. Nicolai’s design was selected in a competition in 2014.
